Slowing Down, Speaking Truth: Your Autumn Phase
You’re not crazy, your in your luteal phase
Dearest Community,
Alas, we have arrived at the Luteal Phase.
Sadly this one gets a bad rep and is often misunderstood.
We get to change that today ❤️
Thank you for coming on this FOUR PHASE journey with me.
I hope you have learned helpful tips and learned more about you (or your lady).
As women we get to embrace our cyclical nature. And we get to teach those around us to honor us the same.
Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have questions or want more insight.
Muccchhh love…
Let’s dive in to Luteal.
🍂 Phase 4: Luteal — Autumn
Welcome to the Luteal Phase — the autumn of your cycle.
This is the time after ovulation and before your bleed.
Your body is preparing for one of two things: pregnancy or menstruation. Progesterone hormone begins to rise bringing a bit of sedation. Things begin to slow down and become more internal.
This is the longest phase of the cycle — about days 18–30.
It’s often split into early luteal (slowing down, but still normal energy) and late luteal (think PMS).
We begin to go more Yin in this phase.
Its gift is truth-telling, boundary-setting, refinement and deep discernment.
You begin to see what no longer works. You prioritize order, and honesty. You no longer have any capacity for bullish*t and the world around you gets to evolve because of that.
Supportive Practices:
Winding down creative projects + closing
Declutter your home or to-do list
Take daily long walks in nature. Let the Earth hold you.
Journal or brain dump — allow the emotions flowing to bring insight.
Strength workouts, slow weight lifting in the first half, then transition to stretching and long walks in second half.
Take a nap instead of working out. Yes.
Consume rich, warming, grounding foods (think: root veggies, soups, healthy fats)
Magnesium can help regulate mood + hormones + sleep
Your body NEEDS more calories in this phase so please, nourish yourself
How to romance yourself in this phase:
Slow down and do less
Embrace the dark. Wear black, welcome the rage and sadness. Get weird with it!
Embrace the inner wisdom that comes. Dance it out of your body.
Make yourself a playlist for the Luteal Phase. Rage, sad, longing, aggression, let all the darker parts of you be EMBRACED by YOU
Take a long bath
LET YOURSELF EAT MORE
Nest in your bedroom with low lighting and your favorite T.V. show in the middle of a sunny day
Say “no”
Give yourself permission to have a sharper tongue. It is ok. Embrace the inner b*tch. She has wisdom.
Take a long walk and let your emotions get sappy to a sad love song
Speak the Truth, it might come easier to you during this time
Be with other women, because WE GET IT and often have more capacity for your luteal woman than men do…
PMS stands for Prioritize My Self.
Mantra:
“I honor the truth I feel in my body. I allow myself to slow down. I am allowed to be assertive and powerful. I do not need to be light all the time.”
If you're around a woman in this phase:
Be gentle with her.
Open yourself up to the wisdom that pours out of her here
Please take her seriously. The last thing this woman needs is for the Truth trying to come out of her to be blamed for PMS (even if you’re right)
Make her a nourishing meal
If she’s irritable, don’t take it personally — she’s clearing out what’s no longer aligned
Book her a massage
Remind her: she’s allowed to feel all of it, she can rest and you love her as she is
Put your ego aside and LISTEN to what she has to say and what she is experiencing, you might be transformed or learn something.
Please do not say anything that resembles, “this is only because you are PMSing", if you bravely choose to say this, the discomfort in her body just might become directed at you lol.
ORGASMS
Archetype: The Wild Woman / Enchantress
Raw, real, intuitive, sensitive, powerful and chaotic. She is deeply entrenched in the world of transformation. The veil is thin. She sees clearly and isn’t afraid to speak the truth— she takes no sh*t and is deeply tethered to the Divine.
Despite what society teaches us, this is a powerful and special time for women. When we learn to receive its gift and honor this time, the world around us does too.
Get curious about all the emotions that come up in this phase but do not take action from them. Emotions can get AMPLIFIED here. As a general rule, wait until you bleed to make any life decisions. It can be normal to want to destroy the world, leave your husband and quit your job. I get it. Let it be FELT, but do not let it LEAD.
Gosh, honestly I could go deeper into these phases with you.
If you want that, let me know and I shall.
With soooo much love,
Happy Cycling,
Kam
