Beauty Moments + Come to my workshops!

Hi sweet community 🕯️

How are you?

I’d love to hear what’s alive in you right now, so feel free to reply and share.

Beauty Reports: A Practice of Connection

In these complex times, it feels more essential than ever to ground ourselves in what, in Forrest Yoga, we call “Beauty Reports.” These are moments of openness, ease, pleasure, or connection—any experience that touches your heart or stirs something in your Spirit.

Ana Forrest, my mentor, speaks to "Walking in Beauty," a way of being inspired by Navajo traditions and the Beauty Way cermemony. This practice invites us to live harmoniously, aware of each interaction and experience, while letting go of judgment. Shifting our perspective from viewing life events as challenges to seeing them with curiosity opens the door to a meaningful experience.

A part of Forrest Yoga teachings is called the "Beauty Report," where we acknowledge and share something that feels beautiful or heart-stirring. Ana suggests that this practice not only deepens our appreciation for the world around us but also helps bring us back into harmony with ourselves and our surroundings.

As an entrepreneur (and a seasoned over-thinker!), catching Beauty moments reminds me to slow down and savor the sweetness in the present moment. Ana taught me to see these moments as they arrive, to pause, breathe them in, and let them nourish me. When we consciously tune into the Beauty in our lives, we realize that no matter the storm, Beauty is always present.

In the Spirit of Beauty, here are a few of my recent Beauty Reports:

  • The sweet silence as my nephews drift to sleep after a day full of laughter and play. Sitting in this calm, I feel my own body relax and soak in the quiet.

  • The cooling morning breeze during my balcony practice. I love how nature interacts with me, adding its own medicine to my movement.

  • The comfort of stepping into a studio to teach, feeling the warmth and smiles of students I’ve known for years. There’s a gentle familiarity in practicing together.

  • Reuniting with a dear friend and receiving her embrace after many months apart.

  • Holding hands with my Beloved, laying in silence together after a long day apart.

These Beauty moments, like soft rain, nourish us and add richness to our lives. Just like in our yoga practice, there’s magic in “Breathing it in”—pausing, letting life touch you.

I invite you to start your own Beauty Reports. What’s been your moment of Beauty today?
